White-tailed Ptarmigan on the side of Slate Peak

This is the mom. Notice the cryptic coloring on her back and how it mimics the licens on the rocks around her. In the winter she will be pure white to blend in with the snow.

Maple Pass Hike

This hike, starting at Rainy Pass on Highway 20 is a local favorite.
We did the loop clockwise.
